I had a bad left rear wheel sensor on my 2000 Continental. Every time I came to a stop, the abs would kick in. Very annoying to say the least. I searched all over the country for a replacement to no avail. I then stumbled on this video on You Tube about how a Town Car Rear wheel sensor would...
I have a '00 and had it fixed by my local Lincoln dealer. The part was still available, but they had to order it. Don't know the part number. Check with your local dealership parts dept. It works most of the time. but sometimes it won't and I have to pull the cable in the trunk to get it to open.
I have an '89, but I don't know if the system is the same on a '94. When I aquired it, I had the same problem with the rear. I got two replacements from Arnott and that fixed the problem. You have to troubleshoot the system because it may not necessarily be the air bags. In my case, it was. The...
I have a 2000 and had the same problem with the settings changing on their own. It turned out that the battery was very weak and not holding a charge. I installed a new battery and the car is fine now. If the battery in your car is old, I would install a new one, or at least have your present...
I have a set of 8 silver ingots from when I bought my 1998 Mark VIII Collector's Edition that depicts all of the 8 Mark series. Lincoln mailed them to me after I took possession of the car.
Had the one in my 2000 rebuilt last year for $2,200.00. That included any update mods. This car only had 97,000 miles on it. He diagnosis was a fluid circulation problem.
Just had the one in mt '89 rebuilt in December for $1,500.00. He also changed the manifold flange for the exhaust for no...
You are correct. You have to remove the tail light lens. You need to loosen the side rug in the trunk behind the lens and you will find the fasteners that hold the lens to the body. It's a PITA, but it's the only way to replace the bulbs. I have to do this to both my 1989 and 2000 Continentals.
I get that on my '89 too. Is your automatic parking brake release working when you put it drive? Does the hissing sound go away when you accelerate? I'm pretty sure that's the culprit. A vacuum leak. I haven't investigated it on my car, but the automatic release is inoperative on it.
1989 Continental.
When I put the gear selector in the drive position, I hear a hissing sound under the dash. I'm suspecting that it's the automatic parking brake release mechanism (which has not operated since I've owned the car) as I do not hear it in any other position. Any ideas what is...
