I had a bit of trouble when I did mine also. I would recommend that you start your car and turn all the electronics on when you go through the set up steps. The unit senses voltage changes and with all of the electronics in the Lincoln I would think it to be best to have them all on when...

You should be able to get a unit made by PAC called SWIPS. I believe that is correct.... It will wire into the stereo wires and will allow use of the stock steering wheel controls. I got mine from Crutchfield for my 2006 F250 and it works great on my pioneer nav system... This link...

I have never heard any one with the V8 option wishing they had a V6.... On the other hand there are a lot of V6 owners who, you got it " Should of had a V8"...............

Good luck!!! They are not cheap and its a big chore to get the old one out and the new one in. They drop it our the bottom, and I think it is a 28 hour rated job. If you get one from Ford the engine will have a 3 yr 100K mile warranty. I had mine replaced and it as much as most LS's are...
