For Sale 23mm Supercoupe rear sway bar - $60

Sorry for the delay, I guess I don't get email notifications...a Gen 2 Mark 8? Yes, it's usually used as an upgrade on those for the the hollow rear sway bars that rust out and break.

    Pulling the engine

Correct, but it isn't bad to do with the trans cross member unbolted either. A little tough on jackstands. Not sure about installation that way though.

    Engine rattles on startup

A long overdue update from me - I replaced just the cam phasers and the start up rattle is gone. The chains and tensioners all were in good shape. I disassembled the old cam gears and found some minor wear at the locking pin inside the gear, but not enough to cause a problem IMO. I also noted...

    Timing LS 3.9

Yes, sorry, the sprocket tool, OTC 303-532. I can apply enough tension to take the slack out of the chain, but when tightening the sprocket bolt, the sprocket wants to turn as well, which causes a loss of tension in the chain. Using lube under the head of the bolt is probably what I need to try.

    Timing LS 3.9

Has any one actually had success with the cam tool? It doesn't actually say in place on the cam gear.

    Engine rattles on startup

I'm going to be doing this soon too - I bought the same tool kit, but found it on Amazon for $90 shipped to my door. Should be here this week, then I'll start tear down and order the cam gears, 4 new bolts, and gaskets.

    PCM code location

Mine was on a sticker on the passenger side of the radiator core support, near the headlight. You might have some plastic to remove to see it.

Not an LSE with the bumper and body colored grille?

    Engine rattles on startup

There are quite a few videos of Toyota VVT start up rattles which are exactly like what mine is doing. I pulled the valve covers and all the of the chains and tensioners look good. The phasers require all of the timing chains to be removed since they gear is shared with the secondary timing...

What did you do to your LS today?

I'll probably send mine off for repair soon - I'll open it back up to compare to the picture I took before anything is done. I wonder if they just put it in a solder reflow oven...

    Pulling the engine out

Looks feasible out of the top, but yeah, I don't think the trans is coming out with it. I've pulled engines out of the bottom on FWD cars with just jacks and jackstands to get it high enough. Not sure how easy that would be on the LS. I would probably remove the hood first, then anything that's...
