    drivers side exhast manifold welded to cat?

    Is this standard? I was looking under the car when I changed the Tranny fluid to Merc V. I noticed the drivers side manifold was welded to the cat (no flange at all). I was planning on headers later but is this normal on the 94 Mark VIII? I am taking it to a mufler shop and getting a quote...
