I have a 2000 ls v-8 with the engine light on the car overheated and fixed that problem and now the sensor shows up. Do I need to replace the sensor, and if so where is it located?

I recently replaced the degas tank, and thermostat ,have bled the cooling system as recomendedfrom this site, I still do not have heat,did a system check and the results just show 88-188.8 degrees, what does this mean? checked all three hoses from the heater core only the bottom one was hot...
