my car has been overheating, i've replaced the radiator since it cracked, still overheating, i took the thermostat out but i'm having people telling me i need it others saying i dont, i live in Miami, is this necessary???

So my wiper motor died, have a new one, have this whole thing taken apart but i am not sure how the pivot shaft comes off of the motor, does it just pull apart or is there some sort of special way to detach these 2 parts?
