Today I replaced my green traction control light with a green led as the incandescent burnt out. Its REALLY bright and the green is a little more vibrant than the rest of the bulbs but hey at least its green and not burnt out. I'm also going to replace the yellow traction control off light with...
Here's pictures of IPF LED in my 95.
It is a fully plug and play, no wiring like the HID and control modules or such.
Just like replacing any HB3 bulb, and I didn't even need to clock the LED filaments as they were spot on from factory.
Cost? A LOT. I paid equivalent of $250 for my two low beam...
Robert,
I recently had to replace my original HID bulbs... after 220k miles.
DO NOT touch the bulb with your fingers... or you will be buying another one. Also... a little dielectric grease at the connection on the back of the bulb... and the connector plugs on the assemblies... is...
I have 145k miles on my 2006 and the new HID bulbs made a noticeable improvement in light output. That said living in California I don't have interior lens issues to deal with.
Although I keep the outside of the headlamps clean and polished, there is some moisture and haze on the inside of the lens and that is indeed part of the problem. I had both assemblies out of the car yesterday but there doesn't seem to be much I can do. There doesn't seem to be any obvious...
The original factory bulbs were Phillips. Ford parts does still sell HID bulbs for the LS. They add a pretty good markup.
Are you sure that the brightness decrease isn't due to the headlight lens clouding up?
Greetings,
My 2003 LS has the HID headlamp system. I’d like to start the new year with a fresh set of bulbs. It doesn’t look like the headlamps have ever been touched and they seem a bit dim to me. Lots of vendors offer the low beam HID bulbs but I can’t find anything for the high beams...
I've ordered a set of IPF LEDbulbs for my '95.
It was definetly not cheap, expensive as hell for just two bulbs. But those seemed to be the most serious LED manufacturer on the market I could find and only great reviews.
Hopefully I'll get them this week and I'll try to post the difference of...
I replaced my stock headlight bulbs with a 35w 9006 HID kit and honestly the performance is way worse than with one light having a factory bulb and the other one with an unknown HID bulb, no matter how I adjust the bulb or the headlight. They don't blind other drivers, but they also provide less...
The signal light bulbs are switched by the FEM (in the front) and the REM (in the back), but AFAIK they are controlled by the cluster. It is my understanding that the micro in the cluster reads the turn signal switches and tells the FEM and the REM when to turn the bulbs on and off.
If we has...
I’m having a hard time disconnecting the wires from the dome light so I can remove the plastic piece from the headliner and have better access to the bulbs. How do these connectors release? Already broke off a little piece of plastic. I can’t really see what I’m working with here.
Three FEM wires, as shown in post #7.
"Common" is the positive wire. It will be at 12V all the time that the car is awake. The two labeled turn signal wires are the switched grounds to the signal bulbs/LEDs.
(I can't actually make out which three wires he identified, but I assume shows the...
