I like that idea. Gonna have to adopt it.
The seller is "supposed" (because I still have yet to receive the email from the seller to reply back with the pictures of the box) to send me another set of rotors and pads and this time it will require a signature. Im still holding a claim on ebay...
Long story short I use to work in a large distribution warehouse who used UPS, so I have an idea how these things work (Pick-pack/Overseas-Canadian/Overnight orders etc). The fact that the box still had the empty package for the brake pads is a dead giveaway. I understand the point of "but maybe...
You are absolutely correct. I got a call back from Fedex and was instructed to have the shipper/seller file a claim against Fedex.
Since Fedex doesn't come to this small town very often im sure the driver had to have a brief thought of "hmph this feels kinda light" but didnt notice that the...
I had UPS deliver something to the wrong address and the people who got the package dropped it off at my place but never had this type of incident happen.
Title says it all. Last week I purchased a pair of front rotors and pads from a seller on ebay called "Brakemotive".
They shipped and did their job. Box came in today and felt light... Opened it up thinking this was a joke till I noticed the package that should of held the brake pads was opened...
End result of these issues (at this time) and for everything CEL wise was solved by New Coils/Plugs and a Crack Sensor(NOT CAM for anyone else viewing).
I replaced the Crank sensor that I told the shop to avoid being it was brand new. They changed it out anyways and now I have the original 145k...
That was the first thing I changed out back in December. The engine started up fine after but still had "spuddering" issues. The 2nd shop changed that out and said "it was over the required voltage" (even tho I told them it was brand new). I still need to go back and get it. So that is back on...
Checked list:
Fuel Pressure (fuse and pump)
Battery
Security
Tire pressure
Old & new coils (put old back in the passenger side)
Starter relay...
So I took an old plug/coil and connected the #2 connector to it. Had the engine turn and I didnt see any spark. Not sure if you should see a spark...
oh yeah. Aside from our gas station here in town that has questionable gas at times. The tube was solid. I used some clear tubing to see whats going on and the fuel does proceed into the line but stops shortly after. When I took the clear tube back off and the fuel jetted out from pressure. So...
I told my girlfriend last winter that this car HATES the cold. The negative temps are what lead to my Advancetrak lite to come on and its been flashing ever since. Now, its because the fuel line right after that FI damper is frozen solid.
Now the dam thing won't start at all. Turns all day but drains the battery pretty quick. I have yet to touch the starter relay so I will give that a shot. Thanks for that idea
Nope aint fixed. Trying the battery next. Theory is this cold is F'kin with the battery and while trying to start the engine, it (battery) dies out after 4-5 tries. I completely overlooked the weather aspect of these issues and a battery that my need to be replaced:drunk:
This doesn't explain why new plug/coils would need to be switched around to start the engine. I can understand this with the oil coils being age which then leads one to purchase new plugs and coils but having the same issue with new hardware doesn't instill confidence. I now have a Flat head...
*update* Never did figure out the issue with the faulty starting but after new coils/plugs its back to "normal" and the FI damper hasn't been leaking... Now its on to fixing other minor issues. Wanting trade it in for a subaru.
Thanks. Ive been skimming the forums for something like that. First coil I needed to change 30 seconds after purchasing the vehicle was #3 cylinder. Bought the $45 coil from advance auto, went home and installed. Drove the car for a year and put less then 20,000 miles on it with no issues. The...
Ok good. Valve cover is back on. New coils and plugs in. No start. Switched #2-#3 back to old coils engine started up. Switch 2-3 back to new coils and the engine started up. (so basically I used two old coils to start the engine and then put all of the new ones back in). Wondering about the...
Thats about what I thought. Wasnt sure if that leaking meant there was pressure backed up by the engine somewhere (maybe an anti-theft thing idk).
Since the no start issue arose previously to installation of new coils/plugs Im finding it kinda hard to believe new "over gaped" plugs would fry...
About the computer, when I had the car at Ford, the service tech mention the pcm as one of the possible reason the car kept getting CELs. This was of coarse before the no start issue and before any changing of plugs/coils.
If the impulse damper is leaking fuel would there be a fuel block...
