Hello ,
Is there a special method to getting the transmission out, I have taken all the procedures listed in the service manual and the transmission is still binding on something I have about an inch gap between the bell housing and the engine. Am I missing something.

Is it slid back all the way?

If you mean back to the motor no, we got about half an inch of release away from the motor and thats all she will budge. I keep hearing about an ear, does this tranny have one, if so how do I work around it?

You want the tc all the way to the trans side. If there is an inch of gap in the housing you should have ~1.25" of gap between the flex plate and tc.

Are you sure everything else is disconnected?

The three sensors
The solenoid bolt
The shift linkage
All housing bolts
The starter
...other V6 parts?

Maybe you're just being too friendly. Give it a big hit.
