Because of the difficulty in removing a differential cover from an LS, I would like to suck as much of the old fluid out as possible with the appropriate tool and replace with new 75w140 gear oil. What exact tool do you recommend I purchase for this task? My cover is not leaking and I'm doing this purely as a maintenance task.

This is what I bought to suck fluid out of reservoirs. The hose that comes with the pump is very short and is 0.375 inside diameter. So, I also bought several barbed brass junction fittings in different sizes on one end (for example a 3/8 X 1/4 i.d. fitting) so I could used different hose sizes on the end and if needed to make the hose longer. Just make sure you clean it very well after use, I have had mine several years now, still works great. It is about $19 on Amazon.
