Hello from the new guy. I have been lurking on this website for a few weeks and am getting ready to pull the trigger on a 2003 Lincoln LS-8 with 37,000 miles.

The seller is saying that it has a "sport appearance" package, but is unsure about if it has the sport suspension. He says all 2003's with V-8's automatically have the sport suspension.

I HAVE to have the sport suspension. Is there a way to tell from looking at the car, or door tag..

Is there anywhere I can go to confirm that this car has sport suspension if I were to get the VIN# ?

Thanks guys
Brett

There is no way to tell from looking at the car weather or not it has the sport supension. I think it may be in the VIN number but I'm sure others will chime in. There was a recent thread where people listed sites where you can run the VIN.

Okay let me try that hotlink posted above.. what "phrase" or code should I be looking for?
Thanks for the quick reply!!

Andy (Crying because mine is now gone.)

NEW TO ME
nice any pictures

I guess that means you don't use the keypad?

It lights up after you press the first button on it. That's a pain in the dark because you have to count over to the correct first button to press.

I modified the keypad on one of the cars I used to have (I had to replace the pad because it failed, so why not improve it). I put high efficiency red LEDs in and wired it so that it glowed dimly all the time the key was off. (Current consumption was about 1/1000 of an amp, so no battery drain issue.)

yes you re right i never used it because don't know the passcode last owner never gave it to me,

that's the first I've ever heard that, and it's not on mine.... I got mine from the dealer last time I was there.

I've had Grand Marquises (Is that the plural of Marquis?) that had the factory code on the trunk hinge, but the only place my LSes have it is on the card in the owners manual.

BTW, for any that don't know, once you have the factory code, you can assign your own personal codes that are easier to remember.

Well it looks like a done deal, I have to drive from TN to Cleveland, Ohio to get the car Saturday. It's a long way to have to go for a car.

I had a really hard time finding an red or black (with black int) LS8 with low miles. We have agreed on a $11,283 price. Pretty good I guess considering the low mileage.

I hope the car lives up to it's online pictures.

You guys have been a big help, and I'll be glad to be back into a Ford product.. honestly.
