i was under the impression the op was trying to connect with a pc. i've never used the mobile app because it doesn't support all the feartues (module programming). and if the op's ls is a 2000 he won't connect with can.

you can change connection settings by clicking on the icon on the left panel that looks like a cog. he says its a 2000 so he doesn't have to worry about can. if he has the can switch on on the elm, i would think he wouldn't get a connection either.

well...the 1rst gen ls's dont have can, so you don't need to worry about that. if the elm 327 device is a cheap chinese knock off, it may not work at all. as i said earlier, i stopped using my elm device because of connectivity issues. and with the elm, you can only read/clear codes. i use an...

hey. what year is your ls? it could be a problem with the startup configuration of forscan. check your config settings. i think you have to chanhe the settings to a connect with can. there was a thread on forscan's forum a while back about connecting to can.

hey. thanks for dropping in. the fuel pump is fine. pressure at the rail during cranking is ~50 psi. i did the pinpoint test for the pats transceiver and it was shot so i replaced it. i'm no longer getting the b1681. but i am getting u1262 on the ic and mc. running an osc scope during cranking...

yes. i have 3 programmed keys. it does the same with all 3. Reference: - Ford Anti-Theft (PATS) if you go about half way down this page you'll see the pcm install/pats reset info. if i'm reading it correctly a pats fault, even with starter interupt, will allow a crank but no start condition...

pats led: when i was getting the p1260 it was blinking rapidly. now it proves out but i have the b1681.

i just checked the pats job aid (ford issued). it Does show that all ls' have starter disable. now that has me really confused, before i changed my pcm i got a p1260. the car still cranked. after i changed the pcm (but before ANY module reprogramming) i got a lot of codes about mismatched pcm...

thanks for taking a look. i'll see if joegr will chime in. from what i read in one of the earlier tsb's, the gen 1's can have a pats issue and still crank (tsb dated 01-06-02). it's possible i'm misunderstanding it. there was a pats diag bulletin that stated that also. i'm trying to dig it out.

non critical parts only and only if i can't get what i need from Rockauto. have you checked out my thread about my no start problem? i need some advice.

thanks for the headsup. i'm in indianapolis though. the Holland brand is abot $20 cheaper than Dorman. i only dealt with 1a because Rockauto only had Dorman bottles. Rockauto has been the main source for my parts. i used Rockauto for my tune up and front end suspension overhaul.

we may be talking 2 different places. the place i'm talking about is 1a. did you get a chance to check out the link in my previous post? i checked out A1 looking for the bottle. i only found dorman on there.

when you say A1 are you refering to the supplier from australia? i will contact 1a tomorrow to ask some questions.

i've had that happen on gm vehicles no matter where they got the fp/su. on one, it turned out to be a problem with the gauge cluster. on my monte carlo, it was a pinched wire on the sending unit.
