    Check out the big brain on joegr!:cool: Just got back from doing exactly that - found another thread (via google, didn't find anything helpful through the site search) that suggested the MAF. Pulled the plug, and it started right up. Took it out, and found a tiny bit of a butterfly wing...

    2003 V8 with 130k on it. I've had it for a couple of years, no serious problems. Now two days ago, I was about a hundred yards from home and it just shut off. Just barely coasted into my driveway - got lucky there I guess. Now when I try to start it, it fires right up, runs for about half...

    I'm afraid so... While I'm believe some cars use a circular track and sliding contacts to make an electrical connenction (and this connection can wear and/or get dirty), this is not one of them. It's a long ribbon cable coiled around the center of the steering column, and it has enough slack...

    Despite the name, there isn't actually any sort of "spring" inside a clockspring. You're right that the problem must be somewhere in the 3' long ribbon cable, as that's really all there is to it. However, it's not just a wire, it's more like a flexible circuit board, so it would be pretty hard...
