    hydraulic fan oil problem

OK, After reading all the posts I could find, none described how to drain the old oil from the fan pump, how to properly refill it, or if it needs to be flushed out or bled. Is it simply a drain and fill? Where is the drain plug?

    hydraulic fan oil problem

joegr, the dashboard readout says coolant level was ok, I saw no reason to check it. The engine started getting hot then suddenly dropped down to normal running temp so I checked it anyway. Thanks for the info, I'm on it.

    hydraulic fan oil problem

Howdy all, Been away from here for a while and no I wasn't in jail. Yesterday I went to put antifreeze in the 2001 LS V8 Sport and in front, on passenger side was a tank cap with a fan on it. Silly me ASSUMED (yes I know) it was for coolant. I started pouring antifreeze in when I realized the...

Gotta change front hub assemly, what size bolts??

I have an '01 LS V8 sport. Did forum search, what I got told how to do the job, but what size sockets do I need? I have mechanic tools but no metric. I'll need to remove the brakes, rotor and hub assembly. Thank you Rick

Mine was hatched on 12/08/00, not goin' out right now to check paint and trim codes, got that frost $#!+ all over everything, and I ain't goin' out and ya can't make me do it. I figgered things were gonna go wrong, always drove older vehicles and my diesel was certainly a different animal...

+1 ^, I haven't paid anyone to turn a wrench for me in many years. I don't have a shop, need more metric tools and I'd like to have air tools 'cause my wrenchin' is like slow motion compared to air. Need a manual too, first thing. Bought this with intentions of working on it, lowering, bigger...

    Official LS Picture Thread

I don't know why he left that chrome. He also put the Chive On stickers on. I'd honestly never heard of it. Don't know if it's my advanced age, or where I live. I did check it out, seems pretty cool, just not my cup of tea. Maybe 20-30 years ago.

    Official Plasti-Dip Thread

Thanks G-Rell, I kinda figured I could, but if the dip peeled after cutting around the badge I'd be starting over. Come summer, I'll do the wheels. I'd really like to get this stuff off the headlights. Maybe this weekend.

Thanks elephantrider, I should have worded the question differently. Can the ball joints themselves be changed in the old knuckle? If so, why change the whole thing, better metal, damage to old one, cost difference doesn't justify the labor difference (usually the rationality I use )? I see...

    Official Plasti-Dip Thread

The guy I bought the ls from said he plasti dipped the head light lenses, they look pretty crappy how can I remove it without harming the lenses? The stock wheels were stripped and powder coated flat black, the finish is a rough texture. My wife asked me if we could make 'em shine. Will the...

Thanks guys, I don't have anything like that. Always use the right tool for the job( hand me that torch). I'm a millwright, so I have a lot of top quality tools, just mostly American Std. not many metric, 3/8 socket set, allen wrench set and allen socket set, time to expand I guess. I see...

elephantrider, Good, informative post, thank you. This is all stuff I'm wanting to do to my LS. I did know about the brake piston tool, but don't know what it is, could you post a pic or something telling size. I'm wondering if I may have something already. Are the nuts and bolts metric or...
