What was your first/recommended LS upgrade?

Replacing the H11 low beam with the H9 high beam was the most cost effective mod I ever did. You should clean up your headlight lenses with a sylvania headlight restoration kit if they're badly oxidized. Read this post (the whole thread is great) REAL OFFICIAL LINCOLN LS OWNERS GUIDE!!!! Basic...

    Starter or Not?

I found out yesterday that the sunroof drain is probably disconnected on the driver side. There was water in the driver side door map 'pocket'. It makes me wonder, since the car was sitting on the street when this happened, it was tilted toward the passenger side. Maybe some water got into...

    Starter or Not?

I had a starter solenoid fail on my old Honda, and that prevented the starter from engaging at all. Let's suppose the solenoid is just a *little* bit weak. Could it fail to engage just enough that the solenoid would have power but it wouldn't engage the motor? And it would happen when it's...

    Starter or Not?

Good question, man. I do have it all. In fact I replaced some of it a few years ago when it got chewed up.

    Starter or Not?

That's almost exactly how he described it. I was disappointed he didn't note them for me before clearing them.

    Starter or Not?

Yeah, I had put the quotes around "feature" as mild sarcasm. You think it's not related to PATS? I have also worried about injector, gaskets, who knows...

    Starter or Not?

So maybe there is a PATS "feature" here. It's raining and cold today, we'll see if the same thing happens.

    Starter or Not?

2000 LS V8. 148k miles. The car had been sitting outside on the street for three days. The weather was cool (mid-40's at night, 60 during the day) and damp the whole time. I went to start the car, and it fired up as normal, but abruptly died after only 2 or 3 seconds. I tried to start it...

Well this happened today. Got hit by a non driving *^%\<}>#%*!

I get those as rentals. Basically "economy" means "I will only downshift if you hold the pedal down less than 100% a for a very long time". So basic merges into traffic or the like is just a nightmare.

Nice work, man. Good to see people take the time to think things out and solve a problem.

arrgghh My Old LS In The Salvage Yard!! (sniff)

When the day comes that I sell my LS, I will have to make a concerted effort to never look at LS for sale or parting out ads again.

    Decision Time

We had late '60's model VW's. We had to replace the sparks, adjust the distributor points and set the timing every 3000 miles. Oil changes were about every 1500 miles. Our '68 Beetle's first motor threw a rod at about 80k. The reman motor went after about 70k. The '66 Variant (same pancake...

What did you do to your LS today?

New window regulator.... Got the windshield company to seal the hole they didn't properly fill... Now I just have to get the driver window trim squared away and all will be quiet again.

What did you do to your LS today?

Chapter and verse, brother. I just procrastinated when it started to creak going up. I was more proactive with the passenger side regulator last summer.
