Dang.... LS-jsf those prices are cheaper than I was quoted at Advance with knowing a guy that marks my parts WAY down... lol I'll def have to look them up. How hard is it to replace the drier and orifice tube?

    AC issues

As it's getting hotter here in the south, I just found out that my AC is out. Put the car in the shop for a diagnosis and was told that the compressor "puked its guts out" the front seals. Compressor still spins freely so I'm assuming that just the seals went bad (car has 180k) and lost all...

    02 LS electrical?

Terminals are clean and tight. Alt was replaced a little over a yr ago (Dec 2015). The car has a sunroof that leaks....... Could that lend to part of my problem. As far as the headlights go, I also have a Grand Marquis I'm working on and over on Crownvic.net there is a wiring upgrade that can be...

    02 LS electrical?

My 02 v6 has a slight problem of 1. the headlights brightening and dimming along with the interior(gage, HVAC,and radio) all at the same time while driving at night and 2. the HVAC blower changing speeds as well..... Anyone have this happen before and what can I do to fix it. Thanks, Nate

    Replacement clips?

If I was talking about the cowl clips I would have said so..... but no. I was specific on what I was talking about. The plastic clips that, over time, due to the heat in the engine bay become brittle and break. The clips that hold the cop writing and clips onto the coil to make the connection so...

    Replacement clips?

I thought I was in saying it was for the cop ( coil on plug) as there is only one clip there

    Replacement clips?

Does anyone know where I can buy replacement cop clips?that will fit the factory pins on a v6? I think that is why my new engine w new coils and plugs keeps giving me a misfire and causing the check engine light to start flashing. Thanks Nate

Needing help to keep it on the road until rebuild

Looks like I was not in time.... Currently in the shop- 2 cylinders sitting at 60 lbs on a compression test. And they are side by side- shop is thinking a blown head gasket or corroded valves. I hate it when previous owners do no maintenance on there vehicles. So it is either replace the engine...

Needing help to keep it on the road until rebuild

Completely understand joegr... was just kind of hopeful. SO PCV could most likely be the culprit of the oil issue. Should I look to the TPS or the IAC for my idle issue or the throttle body itself? And also where is the PCV on the 02 v6? Cause when I was replacing the valve cover gaskets, there...

Would a bad pcv valve cause all of my issues?

Needing help to keep it on the road until rebuild

IAC- I tried both- didn't realize the resistance was a useless test- thanks for the input. Unplugged twice as well first time, no change, second 5 min later it died. As far as the oil in the intake, nice coating with a little buildup. As in the O-ring upper to lower intake gaskets had a thin...

Needing help to keep it on the road until rebuild

Ok so an update and more questions..... Ive checked the IAC and the TPS- I don't remember the readings but they both checked out as being good per information I found in a Google search. Oil consumption is down drastically to about a half a quart every 2 weeks instead of 1 quart every week...

Needing help to keep it on the road until rebuild

It is still burning oil, so I know a rebuild is in the future. When the I got the car right at a year ago it had 123k on it and according to the condition when the Lincoln dealer serviced it while I was having the DCCV replaced, It had NEVER been serviced prior to that ( factory oil filter...

Needing help to keep it on the road until rebuild

02 V6 w 166k. Recently replaced the valve cover gaskets, new Motorcraft Platinum plugs and new coils. Problem is that upon start up I;m sitting at 500 rpm for like 5 min and then progressively increases to 1k. Driving is decent with minimal power loss ( hence the rebuild- worn rings), but at a...

    Upgrading and rebuilding

Thanks guys. Really appreciate it. And cammer, I know it's still JUST a v6,that doesn't bother me as I have a few other toys with v8s. How often do the control arms fail? And to keep it at 3k would bushings be the way to go as far as bringing the car to a more performance oriented driver. When I...
