98 lsc cranks but won't start, need guidance on common failures

The connector was pretty soaked in compressor oil from what appears to be the case seals on the compressor leaking. I did end up pulling the compressor to the side and slipped a new crank sensor in, and sure as ever it fired right up and has been behaving since. Thanks for the help and guidance

98 lsc cranks but won't start, need guidance on common failures

Car didn't die out as normally would so I shut it off with the key and fuel pressure actually rose steadily up to 38 once I shut the key off, tried cranking with the static 38 psi and the pressure never drops. im thinking its time to bite the bullet and slap the crank sensor in it. the worst...

98 lsc cranks but won't start, need guidance on common failures

No stored codes, when I do get it started it has 29 psi fuel pressure idling, goes up to 38 When I snap the throttle.

What's the spec for fuel pressure to start?

98 lsc cranks but won't start, need guidance on common failures

Fuel filter has been done, didn't change anything. Anti theft light is out, the car will start with a squirt of ether, but will stall within 5 mins of idling

98 lsc cranks but won't start, need guidance on common failures

98 mark won't start, but cranks over fine, I've read the ckp sensor is a very common failure, what is minimum fuel pressure during cranking? I also have a spare ECM, just wondering what else are common failures to cause the no start, gonna try and tackle this after work tonight so I can use the...

finally made it to the track, now i need some feedback/input

every mod to car: 4.10's, detroit true trac locker, driveshaft, 235/55/17 fire hawks in the rear, k&n in the stock air box, sct xcal2 with whatever tune that came with the car when i bought it. exhaust is still 100% stock, tho its on the list of things to take care of soon, x pipe to replace...

finally made it to the track, now i need some feedback/input

ok so how the hell do i improve my 60ft times? i never made it weds night like i was hoping, had to stay late at work. im not worried about track prep really, kuz i dont have much for traction trouble on launch. im still trying to figure out why others are pulling faster times with stock marks...

finally made it to the track, now i need some feedback/input

im not kidding with the 60"times, 2.288,2.338,2.303,2.311 are my 60ft times. just noticed the 2.1# was from the opponent on one of my slips, im gonna try and roll up there tomorrow night with it and see if maxing out my 2-3 shift helps me out in the time department, id love to shave into the...

91 for 3 runs and 88mph for one run. i was doing a lil bit of reading and i was seeing some stuff about IMRC's either being stuck open or stuck shut, im gonna check and make sure they are operating properly

    O2 sensors - cats

the o2's are very important, since your car only has o2's in front of the cats, those are the ones that determine how much rich or lean the car is running. did you space the o2's the same distance away from the eninge as they were originally?

    O2 sensors - cats

because you removed the cats, the rear 02 sensors are not seeing the air changing as it should change when it goes thru the cats. the front pair of o2's is used for fuel control (chages are made in the fuel system to either lean or richen the engine) as long as you dont care about emissions...

finally made it to the track, now i need some feedback/input

im not saying i was tach'ed out in 3rd when i crossed the traps, im saying i was at an rpm around where i could tell the car wanted to shift into 4th. i dont know if its the miles on the motor that is causing my slower time or the semi tall rear tires. if i get a chance to make it back over to...

finally made it to the track, now i need some feedback/input

:biggrin:ill gladly take a pic of my shaft for you next time i get it up on my lift what is exactly considered a high stall converter for the marks? i know alot of people like going with marauder converters, but that doesnt tell me anything really. i dont believe i have the pro racer...

6" alum driveshaft is NOT a typo. old buddy of my brothers is the one who had alot of the work done to the car, and ive laid my eyes on it. its a one peice 6" alum from a shaft shop in CT. he needed the new driveshaft after the 4.10's kuz the 2 peice stocker couldnt handle the extra rpm without...
