I have replied to your PM, but NO you do not have to remove the wheel.
Here is a pic of the switch more or less... Like I said in the PM you can see that the switch hits the side of the wheel NOT under it.

There are other types, but above is the most used. They even make them with the fuse tap made right into/on the fuse.
