    A/C help, please

So far, things are quite cool. Went out this morning with infrared thermometer and the temp out of all four vents in the dash was 38 after a couple minutes run time. This was with the car in the shade, outside temp about 72 and inside temp knocked down to 60. Got the tires rotated, aired up...

    A/C help, please

I heard hissing when I first turned it on, but it is not constantly cycling on/off like it was. I haven't noticed any hissing while driving, but it may be drowned out. I wouldn't notice as much while I was driving before it was fixed, probably because of road noise. I'll check tomorrow and see...

    A/C help, please

Took the LS in today to have the A/C looked at and found dye all over compressor, so had to replace it. Had the belt replaced on it, too. Cooling much better now and no hissing/whooshing constantly. Got a free oil change out of it, too, so that was a bonus. :) Thanks for everyone's input.

    A/C help, please

The hour drive home was very uncomfortable because the car never cooled off, even with both sides set to 60. Today, I drove the car home after it...

V6 coolant system parts list and other systems

I have started gathering together the parts needed to overhaul the coolant system in my 2004 V6. I have searched up and down for a parts list for the V6, but most everything in the forum is for the V8. Does anyone have a list of the parts that should be swapped? I have been hitting Rock Auto...

    Saying hello and needing advice

Thanks for your input everyone. I was leaning towards just going ahead and replacing everything now and saving myself an emergency. I figured if I was going to go in, I might as well replace the plugs and COP's while I am there. One shot and I'm done with all the major motor headache stuff. I...

    Saying hello and needing advice

Hello everyone. Just picked up a 2004 LS6 with 54,600 miles on it. It was my M-I-L's and is in great shape. I have read a lot on this forum and appreciate all the great info. I am a little concerned about the cooling system parts as I drive 85 miles round trip each day for work. There are...
