Back in the day we got our engines 'Steam cleaned'

Have had this one (MC1275) for a few years (bought at Home Depot). I have not used it on the car as yet but may try when the weather warms up. The wife loves it - cleans bathroom, sinks, tile floors, etc without cleaning chemicals. It has a nozzle for directing the steam accurately. Products...

    06 Lincoln LS ECM Location

I removed my PCM and sent it out to a shop in Illinois for repair. Got it back, reinstalled and 2 years later it's still going (cost was under $200). I followed the instructions in the link joegr posted above and all went well. There are a couple other things you can look up in deneau for cabin...

Back in the day we got our engines 'Steam cleaned'

Yup, I learned the hard way on a Taurus about water and engines - even when trying to be careful. The cleaner works well but I may try the cleaner and steam unit next time since it's easy to direct the steam nozzle more accurately than water and the steam doesn't splash/run everywhere. I...

    New Experience. Here's one I don't....

This happened to me once before I learned about this feature. The buttons were accidently pressed in my pocket I believe and I come out later and find all the windows down and moon roof open.

Looks like I know what I'll be doing on Saturday - new leak

It could be mixed with the winter crud that is under the car. I don't think there are brake lines in that area but I'll be able to get a good look at it tomorrow during the day. There are sometimes rust spots under the car from moisture dripping from the rusted frame but this looks too yellow to...

Looks like I know what I'll be doing on Saturday - new leak

Came out this morning and noticed this coloured spot under the LS (2004 V8; driver side). Either a dog pee'd under the car or it's sprung a coolant leak. Left the car at home until I can check under the hood to see where fluid levels are.

    Harsh reverse engagements

Just checking back in on this one - since sending the PCM out to SIA and reinstalling in June 2015 I have had no transmission issues. All prior issues were resolved (harse reverse engagement and delayed shifts when accelerating, gears 3-4 mostly). $200 fix was better option for me versus a $2500...

Told I have transmission leak/suspension issues (urgent) after oil change

I think mine was just being its location and the long term effects of road debris and road salt in winter. Replacing them after 9-10 years for me wasn't a bad deal. My Volvos chew up end-links, etc much faster and I've learned the hard way (repeat jobs on parts and labour) to use OEM parts.

Told I have transmission leak/suspension issues (urgent) after oil change

I had to do the rear tie rods on my car a 2 or 3 years ago and they were in pretty bad shape at that point. Picked up the replacements from Tascaparts and had a local shop install them...pricing seems on the high side.
