    Ls hydralic to electric

Has anyone switched a 2000 Ls hydralic cooling fan to electric fan ?

    2000 Ls cooling fan

The overheating is consistent under the same conditions. Turning on the int heat will bring the temp down in 3-5 minutes but will overheat n 2-3 minutes if stuck in the same conditions I.E stop & go traffic

    2000 Ls cooling fan

The hydralic fan is making noise (not a good one) but this has not had an effect on the overheating. Overheats in stop & go or very high outside temps. Recently drove 1000 mile's while pulling a small trailer & had a couple overheating issues which was resolved by turning on the heat full blast

    2000 Ls cooling fan

A litle history on this Ls. A state of Ohio lemon law buyback by FoMoCo. Dealer,s tried replacing (thermostat, hydralic fan, wire harness, & whatever else they could think of in early 2000. Manufactured in Dec 1999. Languished in Dearborn for 4 years before being auctioned off with under 5000...

    2000 Ls cooling fan

Has anyone tried replacing the hydralic fan with an after market electric fan. I am thinking about doing this & know one pitfall may be overloading the alternator output. Also tricking the software sensors to think nothing has changed. Any feedback in this mod will be greatly appreciated. Thanks...

    Oil change interval with synthetic

This isn' my first experiment with synthetic or semisynthetic. I started testing semisynthetic oils in 1989 on my 1986 FLH. I changed the oil & filters at progressively longer interval's maxing out at 2500 for filter change (Fram despite of all their bad press) & 5000 for oil & filter change. I...

    Oil change interval with synthetic

Yea, $20 is cheap but it cost me $38 with tax for a diy oil & filter (Synthetic) change. With a filter change at 5000 & complete change at 10000 I am spending $45 instead of $76 every 10000. With lub qualities still above pure petroleum based oil why contribute my coin to oil companys? The Sable...

    Oil change interval with synthetic

Yea, I change the filter at 5000 & reset the message center. I started this experiment after 2 chance conversations with ex military techs, one Seabee (heavy equipment operator & 1 Navy (Aircraft Carrier). Both say the lub properties are phenomal even after hard use, they regularly had the oil...

    Oil change interval with synthetic

I have been changing my 2000 LS oil filter every 5000 miles & synthetic oil change at 10000 miles. I also do this on my 2001 Sable & 1996 Escort. After 40000 miles the engine oil consumption is virtually nil. My question is am I setting these engines up for premature failure? With alot of high...
