Lowering - yay or hell no

I just never understood the point of lowering. IMHO these cars are already lower than most. What would be the point of lowering it more? It would be nice to get a jack under it if you have to change a tire never mind speed bumps and pot holes.

EGR replacement - how did you get the #2 bolt out

Don't think that's the EGR valve but I was able to access the bolt by pulling the upper intake. The EGR valve on the V6 is on the front of the intake. Follow the vacuum lines that run from the part you posted. One line will go to the EGR valve

    Broken Rear Subframe Bolt

Took the LS in for a 4 wheel alignment and found out the rear drivers subframe bolt is broken off inside the bushing. I'm hoping I can get to it and work on it from the top inside the car but expect to cut a hole in the floor to access it. Anyone have any pics where the end of the bolt would be...

    Swaping to EDIS Coils...

Interesting... I assumed that the PCM was looking at feedback from the coil circuit to determine misfires. This might actually be better. I agree that it's probably better to just replace the coils with the correct parts and be done with it but where's the fun in that? :) Thanks for all the...

    Stolen and totalled ls

Sorry to hear about your car. That really sucks. Get a civil suit started against the driver. You may not get any money from them today but one day they'll want to buy a house or something...

    Swaping to EDIS Coils...

I'm thinking we'll need to double up the coils because the PCM will be looking for the feedback from the coil it wanted to fire. If we put the ground signals in parallel the coil should fire as a wasted spark but the PCM will likely report a misfire. Right now the only real issue with using...

    Swaping to EDIS Coils...

Looks like a coil has blown out on my LS. With the cost of all these coils I've come to the conclusion that these COP coils have got to GO! The system itself if OK but the cost of the individual coils is ridiculous. Basically I'm looking at replacing the COP coils with EDIS coil packs. I'm...

    Steering Weheel out 45 Deg

Ha, I originally didn't want to take it in for alignment because it would handle OK and drive straight with no hands. Ball joints, etc seem good but I never thought about the back end. After reading these posts I'm going to take in. Thanks for the feedback everyone, That's good info!

    Steering Weheel out 45 Deg

The steering wheel on my 2002 LS v6 is about 45 degrees out when driving in a straight line. It seems to drive OK but is just 45* off center. It looks like previous owner may have replaced the power steering rack and I'm wondering if he installed the steering column off center. Is it possible to...
