I have had it happen 2-3 times, it seems to be caused by a tired intake valve seal. If i start the car and move it around the driveway and shut it off (running less than 5 min) when i restart the car i might see oil smoke. Once it did knock & miss on one cylinder, then i saw the small puff...
I have seen a small puff of smoke when i start my 03 w/108k on rare occasion. I found it happens when the car is started cold and run for less than 5 min and shutdown. (usually moving the car around the driveway) The next start has the oil smoke and once, spark knock.
When the oil is cold and...
I went with OE style and ordered all wagner from advance or autozone and had free next day shipping on all 4 rotors. 50k in the rotors remain true. Im done with the price leader crap; for me this is a daily driver i question the expense of the boutique brands.
yep, ive had that too.
The noise comes from the brake caliper expanding/stretching under the strain of the system pressure. Id bet its because they are aluminum, cast iron wouldnt flex the same way.
My calipers did make the sounds and i did the normal brake job and it was gone but now i...
Im approaching 100k miles and i have noticed something "similar"- I relate it to some slight driveline wear; the transition from powered forward motion to coast is not as seemless as it was when the car had 25k miles. Now, its nowhere as severe as a 200k mile farm truck but it feels similar. I...
Roll down the window and listen-
I have experienced the same "crunchy" pedal feelings and noises, at one time the noise was from "inside" the car and I could certainly feel the noises in the pedal. I have not experienced this in a very long time- though I have made it a point to remove the...
ltnate3 it could very well be coil pack related but I would also investigate the throttle position sensor. Most of the cars I have owned, have at some point have been help by the replacement of the TPS. The TPS is a mechanical potentiometer that does over time degrade. Being that you mentioned...
Response Edge & Blizzak
I put Goodyear Eagle ResponseEdge on my LS, I had 65k on the original oe tires, and the Goodyears were a HUGE step up from the crap original. Snow traction was a consideration for northern Michigan and they have done very well for the first 2 winters.
I just got...
Just a quick thought/guess....I would look at hood clearance and also steering rack clearance. The 351 wouldnt have an oil pan to fit nicely nor is there room for a carb mounted air cleaner (assuming the 351w was not to be EFI)
Then again i could be way off, its been a while since i have...
OK. Ive been looking at it for a long while, im not a huge fan of the infiniti/nissan interior design but i have to admit the Infiniti G37 is one fine looking ride. Heading to AZ next week, so work is renting me my next car for a nice week long "demo" while im there working.....it should be a...
I ran the crap OE tire 65k and put Goodyear Eagle ResponsEdge on the stock wheels. The tires are great dry & wet, northern michigan they were good 1 winter, and ok the 2nd. I dont know if ill run them a 3rd....no all season tire will ever be 100% but i have been very happy with mine!
xarruda89x one thing I have always done (hoping to avoid warping) is buy some aggressive brake pads. The cheap pads will be quiet, but to be quiet they are often made of softer materials, creating more heat than the performance pads would. There is always some trade off, the cheap pads...well...
its been a while since i last looked at the trans, but if i recall there is a range selection sensor and that maybe out of adjustment or the electrical connector has somehow failed.
Take a look here, this might be a start.
After disconnecting the battery, and looking at the sensor mounted on the core support next to the hood latch. There was a lot of corrosion before i removed the connector....then unplugged the sensor and the pins were gone! gotta love salt in Michigan..so i installed a new sensor and the game...
