I am a firm believer in buying the extended warranty after the LS experience. I did for the SS and my daughter's Hemi Grand Cherokee.

My 2004 LS is gone, too many problems in past month costing way too many $ (replaced battery, #4 ignition coil, drive by wire gas pedal, new black box only thing paid by Ford). Car has 63,000 miles, traded in on 2007 Impala SS. Lots of car for the $$. LS was worth $11,300 from Kelly Blue Book...

Trading my '04 LS (64,000 miles) as the problems out of warranty keep growing - new throttle body, new black box computer, new battery, new coil etc and etc. I give up. Trading in for '07 Impala SS.

Had same problem / new throttle body installed. Turned out to be gas pedal arcing (drive by wire) instead. $238 part....

These were all great answers but the dealer has advised it is the accelerator pedal (drive by wire) that is arcing (car was in nice accident in November, driver and passenger doors smashed in along with post - hit broadside by girl in '99 Sunfire). Cost of new pedal - $238 plus labor. Bill...
