I responded and upvoted your post when you nominated it, but it was already in the top spot. I've grown to love this car. It hasn't failed me yet contrary to all the claims it would do it almost instantly, and I'm really close to having the car 100% complete. People that ride in it love it and I...
Oh man, I've been trying to nitpick stuff my car needs since I got it... Off the top of my head:
- What is the state of the trunk weatherstripping? "<43720" appears to be the part number.
- What's the VIN? If you have the memory mirrors and your driver's side works, I'd love to get both of those...
Btw: Found one on eBay. It wasn't marked correctly, so it was a bit of a challenge to find, but it was only $60+shipping, in great shape, and even included the wiring harness and bulbs.
It varies greatly based on where you live, but where I do this particular car is dirt cheap to insure. For comparison, this car is cheaper to get comp/collision on than a newer economy car was to get just liability. This was /after/ an accident in the formed car. The insurance company upped my...
Wait, I'm not sure if this is right...
Is there a way to get into the trunk through the seat backs in the car? I'm pretty sure I released them at some point, but my memory isn't perfect and I'm still kind of sick. If you can get in there, crawl back and pull the escape handle, which should be...
Glad you made it, man. I caught one in Canada last weekend that was trying to do the same to me. Somewhere between it and Tamiflu left me with SJS. I'm still covered in painful blisters, on heavy pain medication, and taking a corticosteroid to suppress my immune system for a while. Scary stuff.
Tell me more about this. Should I be looking at replacing mine now? The car now has just over 26k miles, but it has been in existence since 01/2000... How hard is it to do and how expensive is it? What parts would I need?
Today's list:
- Cleaned windows inside and out.
- Cleaned brake dust off wheels.
- Attempted to replace interior mirror. Failed to get it off. Will take to a mechanic or windshield place soon.
- Applied Rain-X to all front windows as a test. When applying to the windshield, I didn't apply it...
I'm a little surprised that the batteries are rare, considering most BMW and Mercedes-Benz cars have them, but they also have electronics that will be destroyed by the wrong one if you're not careful. They're very rare in domestic cars, of course.
Ahh, clearly TNSTAAFL. So the thing to watch out for in used ones, aside from battery life, will be the suspension.
Sprung weight usually makes a car ride better, though, so they do have that going for them.
... and this is why I join fora for cars I own. Will check that at lunch today.
If it doesn't have a vent attached, where should I seek one of these batteries out at?
Thank you!
