Thanks for the reply guys. I think I did crack the engine fill cap, I tightened it a little to hard and heard a cracking sound. I can't even use the same hex bit (10mm) that I once used to remove the cap as the hole seems to have warped. I'm thinking I would have to remove the thermostat...
