Came across these and remembered hearing about using these back when I had my Mark's so I figured I'd give you guys a chance. They came off a 14k mile car. $80 shipped takes em! Can get pics for interested parties.
Also have almost the whole fuel system off same car.
Mine was doing that as soon as I stopped and it ending up being the idle air control valve. You can usually clean it and itll help, but itll go back to doing the same thing eventually pretty soon.
Hmm after reading some on this it seems like it could possibly be that. The car does switch gears awfully fast. Like it you barely take off youll get to third REALLY quick. And you wont even be going over 25mph. My buddy that works at Ford has a few high dollar scanners so Im sure I could have...
Ima grab the carb cleaner and go check now. Dont think thats it though being how it only does it when you shift it to second. If it was a vacuum leak wouldnt it do it all the time?
**Edit**- Sprayed around everywhere and nothin.
Idles around 750-800. Doesn't seem to be TOO low. Cant be too sure though as you know how off factory Ford tachometer's can be. I just found it really odd that itll die when you put it in Second and not First or even Drive.
It would die when the car was hot or cold. It seems to have stopped dying after the cleaning though. I know the cleaning isnt a permanent fix for the IACV. The idle will jump down a little when coming to a stop, but not enough to kill it. But while sitting still IMMEDIATELY after putting it into...
Okay this is weird. Occasionally the car would die when you come to a stop. I figured its the IACV and cleaned it out. I took the car for a ride tonight and its not doing it anymore. BUT, for some reason I put it down in 2nd while sitting there and it immediately dies. Im like, "WTF MATE??" So I...
Id imagine theyll probably be towing it there and back? That's sweet they are sticking by their warranty so well though. Congrats and good luck with getting it back soon!
Did they give any kind of warranty on the work? Is it a big well known shop or just some mom and pop shop? If they are a bigger, well known shop like Aamco then you might be in luck and they might own a shop closer to you. Id at least give them a call and talk to them about it. Id talk to them...
I'm the exact same way when I'm working on something. If anyone is there its like they are totally in the way and irritating. Just leave me be and lemme get the job done. My wife knows how it is too. She wont even walk into the garage if I'm working on something anymore. lol
Good luck with...
