Haha, I didn't even notice you were from Edmonton until that last reply! For some reason I had it in my head that you were over in Washington. Upload a map for me, lol!
Thanks for the information. I am seriously looking into it it. Is it worth the 4 bills? I mean, do you think the gains will be that noticeable? I have heard that you will only ever see real gains from an exhaust system/high flow air filter when they are combined with a performance tune so...
So an SCT XCAL 2 is like a programmer similar to the Powerchips programmer from what I can tell, am I correct? I was under the impression that there was no programmer available that was compatible with the Aviator. When I checked with the guy on the performance side at my local stealership, he...
Are you asking if it is a good deal or if it is a good choice for your Aviator? It should be pretty easy to figure out if it's a good deal or not by simply checking your local electronics outlet or doing a quick search on the web. It's a low end Pioneer Nav, you get what you pay for.
If...
I am aware that the Aviator has been plagued with throttle gremlins but this sounds different. Sometimes, even when stopped, brake applied, and foot off the gas there will still be minimal ghost throttle input. Under icey conditions when stopped, the transmission will feel like it is slipping...
Thanks. Yes, not to worry, my exhaust smelled that way and that's exactly how I described it. It took quite a while to go away but it finally did (maybe about a month or two). You will be impressed with the change in sound in about a year as well, especially during startup.
I have been running the Magnaflow system on my 05 Aviator since January 08 and love it. It has gotten progressively louder over the past year but is by no means obnoxious. Sometimes if I have passengers in the back they say it`s a little loud but I have ridden back there just to check it out...
Yes, the Aviator is built off the Explorer platform and was available in 03/04/05. It should be noted that the engine in the Aviator is the 32V 4.6L from the Mustang Mach 1 and Cobra at 302bhp, not the 24V 4.6L available in the Explorer at around 250bhp.
I bought my 2005 off ebay last year...
I'm fairly happy with my Aviator if you decide you don't need the size of the Navigator. The AWD is pretty good but you sacrifice some gas mileage for it...in the winter it seems I was getting no better than 12mpg, 13.5 in the summer, keeping in mind that's primarily city driving.
Arrrrgggghhh! sorry the pictures came out so gigantic...if anyone knows how to resize them (they weren't that big originally) let me know and I'll fix it
<iframe scrolling="no" marginheight="0" marginwidth="0" frameborder="0" style="width:240px;height:66px;margin:3px;padding:0;border:1px...
Here's a few pics of my 2005 Aviator. I recently lowered it 2 inches with B&G springs and put on a set of 20 inch MRR HR4 wheels with 265/45 Toyo Proxes. It also has a Magnaflow cat-back exhaust...
I've been looking for a stock grille for my Aviator for a while and saw this on ebay...my truck is not black so it won't work for me but maybe someone else wants it...it will probably go cheap...
