What did you do to your Mark VIII today?

I've been giving some thought to NOS control. now, the engine management system calls for the IMRC to open at 3200rpm, about where one would want the NOS to shoot into the intake manifold. As I'm considering pulling the secondary throttle valves out of the intake runners anyway, I got to...

    Message center display screen

just looked on my disc for a 96 which is almost the same. they want the left finish panel removed along with the light sw knob, the center finish panel and the then the instrument panel gives access to the display. while your that far in, you can pull the display switch panel. Suggest you look...

What did you do to your Mark VIII today?

while you can lower the ride height with the air suspension just about any where you want it, going low means less spring rate in the airbags and then there is the physical limitations of the sensors ability to accommodate the change in stroke. the stock controller is so damn sensitive to...

torsen diff and truetrac are the same thing in engineering speak. the ford racing install kit has excellent bearings in it. My install was straight forward, but, see if you can find a case spreader to use before you tear into it. issues are bias is very high in both. quite often noticeable...

What did you do to your Mark VIII today?

pretty much. until I find something that rings the bell and says "HEY! Look here!" I keep my eyes open but...now the car has become a hobby. the Mark is something I took as trade for a motorcycle after the Doctor told me to get off of it permanently. I've a bit of time and effort into it to get...

What did you do to your Mark VIII today?

got an offer from my salvage yard, CO cars and parts. just not ready to send the bitch down the path to recycling. tires are still good, and everything works well. and the exhaust note is sweet. my other ride weighs seven thousand pounds empty and zero fuel. so, compared to a Mk8, an Mk8 is not...

What did you do to your Mark VIII today?

I got to admit to laughing also. the car lasted 22 years before getting hit. the fact that some chippie did it is just typical. twenty fifth of last month some young cretin ran a red light and teeboned my '03 dodge diesel pu and did $14,000.00 in damage to it. I'm still laughing about that. less...

What did you do to your Mark VIII today?

Today, someone's very young blonde daughter was out shopping in daddy's new F-150 four door pickup and backed into the neon light of my mark. broke the lense and bulb. I was standing in the checkout line at the hardware store and saw it all. she got out, ran to the back, ran back to the...

    EGR and dpfe issue

what are the odds, new part bad. use oem sensors to avoid the issue. Usually, I kinda trust sensors and instruments, just my training. a low egr flow code to me won't mean the sensor is bad right off. I would have to prove the sensor is bad. I would first have suspected the flow was low and...

Power Steering Concern 1998 Mark VIII

could be water in the fluid IF the temp dropped below freezing. if not, suspect the solenoid valve on the pump that controls variable rate is bypassing fluid.

Operating Temperature Range (when reading an OBDII Scanner)?

sounds like time for a cooling system pressure test is overdue. only way to get "air" into a pressurized closed system is to have a source of gasses that has a higher pressure, like a cylinder head gasket leak from cylinder to cooling jacket. just my take on it.
