That schematic is handy to have. Here's an explanation of it in English showing how to inflate them manually. Once you inflate them to proper height, turn the switch off in the trunk to see if the airsprings leak.

Sorry, I read that backwards. You'll need to use the antenna module from a 97 to use the antenna in the glass. I didn't know you had that many Mark VIII's now. Are you going to bring one to Carlisle this year?
I had trouble with my multifunction switch, no brake or turn lights. I was out of town with no tools, I disconnected the battery and sprayed some silicone spray down into the flasher switch and then cycled the switch a bunch of times. I reconnected the battery and the lights worked again.
I posted this on the LOD website, it will let you test the components of the system and inflate the airsprings manually if the compressor works.

If the substrate in the catalytic converter is broken and rattling, it can sometimes rattle around then plug up the cat. I'd disconnect the exhaust from it and shine a flashlight in the cat to see if it is plugged. If it is, you can break up the remaining chunks and remove them, so they don't...
You have a 96, so you have another spare relay to try, the secondary air injection pump uses one of those relay's too.
I'd hate to see you buy one if that's not the problem.
My green 94 had intermittent compressor problems like that too. I replaced the compressor relay and it seems to be ok now, I need to drive it more to be sure.
I had a spare, but you can use the one from the ABS pump in the driver's side fender to test it out.
