do I have to remove the whole section of dash below the ash tray? cause it wraps all the way around the shifter

in a couple of days i'm going to be getting an 03 lincoln ls v6 and i'm freaking pumped. i want to install a single din or double din gps navigation head unit in. how do i remove the radio from the dash? thanks in advance
