well i finally got it fixed. I was not aware that there are different lengths of "deep" sockets. I bought one today that was about a inch shorter on a 3/8" ratchet and I was finished in about an hour. Got it loose from the top. By the way it was a 19mm socket. Thanks for your help 2000sport

fixed hopefully i popped the back seat and looked at the pumps for loose wires then i checked with a scanner got a code for p1235 Fuel Pump Control Out Of Range replaced fuel pump relay and it started right up and everytime since. Only time will tell if this is the solution or a temp fix
