My 05 sport doesn't have the subs either, I think it was an option or part of the ultimate package.
I'm sure you could just wire them in, I doubt they have different wiring harnesses between the sub models.
*small update*
I've now driven the car about 500 miles, the noise has stayed the exact same.
Only thing of note is that it doesn't make the noise on cold start only after the engine has been warmed up completely.
I would still like any input anyone has, I'm not really concerned about it at...
2005 Lincoln LS Sport with the late 05-06 cam gear / VVT system. 122K miles.
Just finished installing a new timing set in my mothers LS and now its making a rattling noise at 1000 rpm, it makes it on decent and accent through the rpm range.
Car otherwise runs perfect and has power back like it...
