1998 Deville's frozen rear brake piston

Turned out that a $12 wind-down tool and $24 pads fixed it all. So much for an $800 caliper job at Firestone. In March 2011 I went in to get 2 leaky tires replaced under warranty, and they gave me a $700 list of other things to replace... funny, the calipers were no longer on the list...

1998 Deville =========== 1) Why is my 98 Deville randomly idling at 1300-1400rpm? - turn it off for 5 seconds or 5 hours, maybe it will continue.. maybe not. CODES: PCM P0122, P1122 IPC B1552 PZM B0533 2) Why did water start to pour into the front passenger side footwell this week...

    1998 Cadillac Deville alternator issue

I usually show 14.2v on the dashboard voltmeter. As of yesterday, it shows 13.6v. And every 30 seconds, it drops to 12.0v for about 5 seconds. IPC B1552 is the only code. What do you think?

1998 Deville's frozen rear brake piston

Trying to change the pads, but the pistons won't retract. The Firestone people said that the pistons or bores may be corroded, so you can't screw them fully open. Anyone have suggestions? Thanks.

    A/C pressure?

There seems to be plenty of 134a in there now. Maybe the pressure sensor is dead. 135 viewers and no one has a clue about the correct pressure?

    A/C pressure?

update 2 Decided to check my Crown Vic's a/c pressure... and the gauge showed that it had 45psi (like the Deville), but it dropped quickly to 25psi as soon as the compressor engaged. Soon after, the clutch would disengage because of low pressure. Ergo... maybe my gauge is off and the...

    A/C pressure?

update I added R-134A to bring the pressure to 45psi (max. safe pressure), compressor still won't turn on. I also swapped the fuel pump and a/c compressor relays, in case the a/c relay was bad. Wrong again. Both relays are fine. The display says that the A/C Pressure is Low. Could I...

    A/C pressure?

1998 Deville gave "low a/c coolant" message recently. Now won't go from ECON to AUTO and stay there. Looks like time for a recharge. But my cheesy gauge says 35psi in the system now. What is the correct psi?
