If you happen to need a 3.9 engine and tranny

heh, sorry bud, it's not mine; I just found it looking for engines on eBay. I seriously doubt the seller would part it out though, that whole mess looks like it just walked out of the factory. Or somebody did some damn good detailing.

    Engine oil

While we're on the subject... I had an 88 Saleen with a stock 5.0. Had 40,000 on it when I got it in 1995. Had 318,000 on it when it was stolen in 2005. I ran Mobil 1 15w-50 full syn for the life of the car. Changed the oil one time in ten years. It was burning a quart every 1000-1200...

    Rear Brakes 2001 Lincoln Ls

I wish I could be more help than I'm about to be, but I have a bad memory, and I can't remember what I did. What I can tell you, and why I'm responding, is I asked myself the same thing when I replaced the rear calipers, and after a short time, I figured it out and it was simple. Didn't...

    black beast still smoking...

Yeah, I'm beginning to agree. I'm not getting any of the 'stuttering' I had from coils, and I never had any significant smoking with my coil issues before. The smoke is HEAVY and thick, half throttle on the highway last night pretty much made headlights behind me disappear. Ballpark what am I...

    black beast still smoking...

For the last thread click here. http://www.lincolnvscadillac.com/showthread.php?t=36827 Didn't want to dig it up from last week. Changed the oil, again, with 20-50 non-syn this time. Drove like a bat out of hell for about ten minutes to blow out all the oil that'd leaked down the walls and...

    Lock doors with engine running?

Don't know about all that keypad stuff; I've got an '02, but I used to beat the highway with 5000 miles a month. My car was a mobile office; I had gadgets and laptops and cell phone and direction thingys all plugged in draining the battery. Whenever I pulled into a station or whatnot for...

2009 Lincoln MKS revealed @ LA Auto Show!

booooring. Interior looks like it was stolen out of a truck. If I drive a Lincoln I prefer it to have at least some of its roots in the gilded age of Lincoln. Rear wheel drive, long and lean, beautiful inside and out. Only thing I really like is the rear end; rest of it looks like a Ford...

    Is this right?

Welcome to the forums. Yeah, its a rev limiter. Only when the engine isn't in gear though; Park or Neutral. I thought it was 4000... maybe I was wrong. These guys know more than me. Two things, about this forum. First of all, I've been here for probably over a year, but I have maybe...

engine is smoking badly in '02 V8

Wow - thanks for the input... the heavier weight oil didn't cross my mind. I had an 88 Saleen convertible for years and years, had 40,000 when I bought it and had 317,000 when it was stolen a couple years back. Original engine, ran like a top, and I ran synthetic in it the entire 300,000 give...

engine is smoking badly in '02 V8

Seems to me it might be cheaper to either replace the engine or sell it and buy another LS than to replace rings or valve seals... particularly rings.. you think?
