So you are saying the coils are the problem, even though this harsh engagement has been happening even before I had them replaced?

I replaced all 8. I went to Amazon and bought from "ECCP" Pack of 8 Ignition Coils for Ford Thunderbird Lincoln LS Jaguar S-Type Compatible with DG-515 DG509 C1234 2W4Z-12029-BD

My battery is brand new, 2 months old. All coils and spark plugs replaced. No engine light on.

I had my PCM flashed 2 weeks ago by Ford but nothing changed. How do you recalibrate the shift points?

I changed the COP about 2 months ago and the spark plugs last month. There is no engine light on. ? I will be getting diagnosed next Tuesday.

What are "marginal COP(s)"? What would be your suggestion. Have ford diagnose the problem or just get another PCM?

if I don't restart it, car will move but at a snail pace. No power. I'm not sure about the throttle opening/closing but I know it was cleaned when I had the Maf sensor cleaned and the coils replaced. The only thing that I had changed was the PCM replaced.

ETC comes on immediately when I start the car. The rpm gauge shoots up and then idles down. After I wait about 2 min, I turn the car off and right back on and then it is normal and I drive normally! Codes I'm getting are 2107 2110

My car had a recent PCM flash and all of a sudden the "ECT Engine Failsafe Mode" came on the dashboard display! What do you suggest has happened and what should I do to fix this?

I had all my coils replaced prior to having a PCM flashed and installed. Now the ETC failsafe mode came after the PCM installation. I keep reading #4 is the problem. Should I replace/have that looked at again and maybe solve this issue?

Its all good man. I NEEDED that work done none the less. So resetting the PCM can only be completed with a scan tool or what not?

Got the car back! Runs same for now, however he didn't disconnect the battery terminal! Was nervous it would reset some other stuff! How long do you think the harsh shift will continue or do I need to disconnect the battery???

Awesome explanation! I got all the parts you said! My plugs are 'Motocraft' & and my coil on plug boots are 'Autolite'! I'm sure or atleast I hope they will be fine! Going to take to my mechanic tomorrow in the AM then head to the gas station and add the STP! Hope the PCM can figure out and go...
