i know some of you have painted other parts of the car to color match...but i'm planning on painting the silver part of the console on the 2nd gen ls to match the rest of the black interior. reason being is the previous owner scratched up the plastic and it just doesnt look good even after a proper cleaning. i think everything black would look good....wut do you guys think....any one good with photoshop?

yea but thats a gen 1....with fugly wood trim....im talkin black on black 2nd gen ls's baby!!!

Ya I've been thinking about this since I got my LS. I was first thinking of doing all the pieces with one of those dash kits in gloss black. I have friends that own paint shops & my buddy there said it would be better to paint the pieces. They do real good work & would be able to redo my woodgrain pieces to look like black woodgrain.

My problem is I've never taken any of those pieces off except the center console to install my AVIC so I don't want to break anything.

in my opinion that's totally unncessary. forums are for posting. if people wanted to search, why bother joining a forum? and if it's asked that often, make it a sticky.

oh btw, that ls in that link looks like ass, imo.

paint it matte, and not shiny. that's going to look good.

this is the most retarded $hit i have ever read! when someone joins a forum the first thing you should do is READ. then if you do not find the info you are seeking then you post. at least the OP was trying to find the proper thread.
 
You guys waste alot of time bitching and complaining about this guy and everybody else not searching, when you could've just answered questions and got the conversation over with.

What a bunch of cry babys. Im starting to think most of you complainers are here just to whine, instead of helping.

DJ knowledge, if you do paint them black, don't do gloss. Unless you like carrying a brush on you because the dust on glossy black looks horrible. Do flat black, or semi gloss.

Prep for paint is the most important part. Cardomain has a few guys on there, that customized their trims, and stay away from the stick on woodgrain. LOOKS tacky and horrible. JMHO.

Guess what friendssss, seniority rules on these forums. Using the search feature has been implemented on these forums since I joined and we're not gonna change it. Thats how sh!t works 'round here.

Now then, if you didnt realize, whilst talking trash to DJ, I was searching for the thread for him. It takes a lot longer to search the forums now because of morons like you who dont search and keep posting all these threads over and over.

See, the problem is there are questions that have already been answered ad nauseum. Those of us who take the time to type up long responses almost consider it an insult when someone will not take at least the same amount of time to find the answer on their own by searching first.

What does amount of posts matter? I've been on this board longer than you & this post will be #200 so... Also the search function on here sucks half the time & I know this, because I use it & can't find topics at times.

In the end all this is is a message board to discuss things & get help nothing more nothing less.
 
You guys should try searching by user name. Search some of the threads people started and you'll get some good info like that. Also, I hope you guys aren't searching by post because you'll never find anything like that, either search by title only or threads started by user name

hey guys...not to take sides or anything but missin linc was only messin wit me becuz we both r kinda like the d*ckheads who tell everyone to search on here....n we only do that because we are both somewhat contributors to lvc. not that we think we're like big dogs around or nuttin like that...but we're just f*ckin around...on another note...most of the time i spent posting on here is done while im at work or extremely bored at home...so that means since i'm always workin...i always post...like wen i did the official lincoln ls owner's guide which is like the most awesome thread by the way...so if i can take the time to doooo allllll thatttt searching and posting of information on a very detailed and thought out thread....i think some people can take the time out to search a little before posting....even tho the lvc search and google search come up with nothing almost all the time...

also i was planning on doin it matte since the gloss wouldnt go with the rest of the interior...think of the silver and the finish of the trim in jsut a black color with the same type of shine and feel...i def will be prepping it beforehand but ill most likely be taking it somewhere to be done...cuz im pretty awesome with mods but im pretty lazy....

Didn't you give ViC the standard djknowledge lvc welcome? That would've let him know a little about your personality, and warn him not to take it too seriously.
