Hey Guys,

I am thinking about getting rid of my 02 and getting an 06.

The 06 has the Elite Package (includes everything), 27K miles, and 100k/6 year permier warranty.

The asking price is 23K, I talked them down to 21.5K.

Is 21.5 a fair deal? KBB lists it at 21.3K retail. My loan agents seem to think that car is only worth 20K.

I think that 21.5K is an OK price with the warranty. I would try to talk them down lower, but there are not many cars out there with this package and lower miles.

what do you guys think? Keep in mind that in California, the prices will always be a little higher.

thanks

The warranty is a good deal, but that still sounds overpriced, but only by a little if it includes navigation. I'd probably take that deal.

That's high if it was by me. I had a few 30K mile LSs to pick from when I bought mine in December. Picked up the 06 with 9600 miles and the extended warranty for a couple grand less then what your looking at.

Difference is in the details though. You bought an elite for that price? A couple grand less is what I'd expect to reasonably pay, but if it's totally loaded with the navi I'd expect it to be more. And he did say Cali, cars definitely cost more in non-snow salted weather.

I paid 17000 out the door including taxes and gap for a 06 with every single option in December 45K on the clock. 6/100 mile warranty would have been about 1600 extra.

Yeah honestly if they took it in as a trade they probably gave 15-16k. Offer them 18-19k and just walk away tell them to call you if they wanna sell it.

Dangle the check. I'd pay no more than $17,500 for it. If they want to sell the car that bad then they'll budge.

I just bought an '06 with the Elite package (which includes the Premium package) a few weeks ago. It had ~33.5K miles and no warranty other than the factory. I paid $15,700 at a Ford dealership near Magic Mountain in Valencia. It has heated rear seats (which my daughter loves) but no side curtain airbags.

Wtf!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

:( ;) I was going to buy the car on Saturday. Somebody just bought it for full price.      :( :( :(

still pissed

damm I am still pissed! I was going to buy that over priced car.

Its hard to find an 06 with nav, extended warr, and under 30k miles

thanks for all the tips guys.

The one I posted in the link has all that....and its 16k!! I think it might have been in an accident though?

Yeah the dude who bought that is a sucker... I mean don't get me wrong I woulda payed 22k for it also they are beautiful but not when there is plenty of the same car for a 25% discount.

My car isn't an Elite but it had a third the mileage. There was a black 06 Elite with everything and <30K on the lot I could have had for the same price but the car I bought was the cleanest LS I saw and the only one with lower mileage was on leftover 02 that was never titled. I could have bought half a dozen LSs with ,30 well under $20k. And Long Island maybe be in the rust belt but being land locked by NYC cars and cost of living in general isn't cheap compared to other areas.

I still think I overpaid a little but got the car I wanted cheaper then anything else I was interested in. My dad told me to buy a new Civic for reliable car I looked at cars like the Pontiac G8 which looks and feels remarkably cheap inside. What can you do. If you really like the car it's worth it IMHO to pay a little more to get what you want with the options(and if used mileage) you want.

I am going to look at 2 elites today. I will likely by one of them. Post a new thread then.

It is going to tuff going to sleep tonight. I can't wait for the extra power and nav!

Just buy a '00 for 2,000 and just modd the f*ck out of it with the other 18k....you'd be ridin dirty!
