i noticed that you are selling the orions for the X5. to my understanding this was the set used on our second gen LS's. I may be wrong but what size are the x5 rings and what size are the ones you ship out for the second gen ls's??? thanks

 What does that even mean? Both rings are the same size? Well, then they dont fit the X5 thats obvious!

Even on our 1st Gens people use BMW rings. Its the same as when people go outside of Umnitza and get the e-bay ones. They order them for a BMW but what one I dont remember.

Youre going to go back and forth with Umnitza, they are not all the X5 halos. The center halo on the GEN2 is round, the X5 inside halos are 3/4 round. I think Matt sent me 3-4 sets and I picked the rings I needed and he doesnt remember what he sent me, so I dont know which car they belong to, just the sizes.

Youre going to go back and forth with Umnitza,

Exactly, thats cause they advertise but they dont actually make any for LSes.

More and more people make LED angel eyes at home. I really wonder what they did to change they way other LED systems work. Catch on to that and make your own.

Sorry, didn't mean to thread-jack.

PM sent, CarbonTC.

Oh, and technically you stole the wheels from me first, LsUnV2!

Are you kidding? I had to pay 200 more than I originally planned!

I'm happy though. LOVE the wheels. I am having trouble finding someone to repair them though. No one near me, so I have to ship them out

I found one mobile guy, but he won't return my phone calls. If that's any indication of his after the sale service, I don't want him to perform the work anyways.

that was shipping pete. just send them back lol:rolleyes: . i say paint the lip black or body matched and call it a day

Here's what I got from Umnitza back in November of 07:

No problem, that’s actually a kit we call the x5 kit on our site. It’s $249 _ shipping. They are in stock and ready to ship.

Hi,

I’m looking for some CCFL rings for a 2003 Lincoln LS (I’ve attached two pictures for reference). Below is some correspondence with a fellow owner who did the mod and pointed me to you guys. Any help as far as availability and pricing is appreciated.

Thanks!

Tom

Not even Umnitza knows what they came off of. The outer ring is ¾ round and 5” in diameter. The inner ring is a round circle 4” in diameter. Matt at Umnitza should have what I ordered at his shop. You can email him off of his website and ask him. We were going to do a kit but not enough interest at the time.

well these guys are dropping the ball or something. nyc see if you have any luck send them that email along with a question of availability of the orion V2. im tired of emailing them and getting foggy answers
thanks

Reply:

The new version is LED based, but it’s not the perfect size for the 03 Lincoln.

Hi again,

I understand that there's a new version out now - Orion V2. What's the availability on these?

Thanks again,

Tom

so here we are, confused, they could have added some info on ring size lol, thanks though i guess we will have to wait or since i have a spare set of bezels just order the x5 kit and see how it goes

Ray is right about these guys - they don't keep very good records or technical specs.
I ordered a set of the Orion V2 when they first came out. As was stated earlier in this thread they list a set for the X5 which as you can see in the pictures the X5 takes 2 different size rings. When I received the set there were 4 identical size rings in the box. When I emailed them back stating I needed 2 different sizes, I was told they didn't have different sizes in the Orion line. So I ordered the Chromium set (for an X5!!) and I got 2 different size rings...

For anyone still keeping up with this thread, and wanting more options on angel eyes. Here's a site that the bimmerforum guys have been using. This link takes you directly to the angel eyes. Wanting HID's? Check those out too, they're dirt cheap, come with a lifetime warranty, and are great quality!

Whats the appeal of halos? Not trying to be an ass, I just never understood it. I've seen people start putting a row of LED bulbs in their headlights to look like an Audi. I hope no one with halos takes the the wrong way but I think it's tacky because it's adding something synonymous to a certain brand of higher end car on well...a lesser brand of car. I dont mean this just for halos either, same goes for the Audi LEDs. Or even those idiots who mold a Corvette rear end on a Honda or a Hummer body kit on a Wrangler.

Not trying to be a jerk, I just dont understand the appeal of them....

I agree cause I laugh at the Dodge Chargers and Acura's that are wearing them now. No offense but I've NEVER liked BMWs...and I want my car to say "I'M DIFFERENT, NOW SUCK MY LONG HARD EXHAUST!"

I tesla look would of been a pretty cool product though.... Anybody seen one of those Tesla circles you see at a science exhibit...and ever thought of those as headlights with the headlight bulb projecting behind them.....just a random imagination.

that sounds pretty stupid, people like halos because it makes the car look alive or make it look angry , Its a mod..... with your logic i guess all mods are tacky and or stupid but what ever, if i wanted my car to look like yours i wouldnt mod it. but your idea about the tesla thing is real childish and stupid hahahahahahaha
