Hit a telephone pole.. driving to damn fast with traction control off..

its about 8000 in damage..

found a junk yard that will give me 3000 for it. and found a 2003 lincoln thats in my new price range..

what wound i have to do to put the 3.58 rear end in the 2003... just change center section or axles too and will the stock 331's fit in the 2000..

yea, maybe its the angle, but it sure doesn't look that bad.

AND... you drove it home (im assuming)

Lack of mufflers made that car too damn fast for you to handle!!! :D

Sorry to hear ya smashed it up. The 03s had 3.58s.

for those of you that think it doesn't look that bad... have never done body work... and just to let you knwo the quater panel it self is 1300 bucks! a NEW door is 800 dollars with no glass or anything. it also needs a new rear bumper and trunk lid... the lowest estimate i have got is 5000 bucks and that is at a MACCO... Trust me if it could be fixed for cheaper it would be done!

the car needs 3 hours on the frame machine!

do you still have to worry about the valve cover gaskets going bad on a 2003... and the 2003 lincolns have the extended warrenty two right??

That's the damage we can't see in the pic. To tell you the truth Id never try to straighten a frame back if it were ever damaged. It would never be as strong as it was off the factory floor and besides that the car itself would just never be quite right. Not worth it IMO. Just scrap it and buy a new one. (that's why you have insurance)

Oh and btw...
<---- used to work at a body shop.

Yup, those telephone poles just jump out sometimes, huh? Sorry to see it, always makes me almost tear up to see an LS wrecked, kinda reminds me of when mine got hit. Good luck on getting a new one.

I agree.. thats why i'm looking at a 03.. and next time i'm going through turns the advance atrac will stay on... LOL So some of the 2003's have the coil warrenty? and all of them have 3.58 gears?

All 03's should have the coil warranty, IIRC, and they should all have 3.58's, but if you get the chance yank whatever you might want off the car, if anything. Even if it doesn't fit on an 03 you can sell it on ebay.

I don't want to deal with selling parts... I would just rather take the 3 grand

i would keep the rear end and axle's so if you ever wanted to put a lsd in it you would already have most of the parts

Pretty much nothing electronic and very little body-/trim-related will transfer between generations. The wheels will, though, if you can't find a 2nd Gen with wheels you like.

From what I've heard, the extended warranty on the COPs and VCGs are one-shot deals--if the previous owner used the warranty on the COPs, even if he didn't have all of them replaced, that warranty may be shot. You may have to check with Lincoln to find out for sure.

picked up a blue 2004 today... parting out the 2000 tell what parts you guys need!!!
