Not only is it an IPOD docking station, it also says "No Smoking in my 'LS!!" I like it!

I'm sure you could fabricate a kit with detailed instructions and swing a profit....its a good opportunity for you. Thats actually pretty nice.

A+ thats really clean, I like it.

you should design one in the ash tray, the "pop-out iPod dock"

THANKS for all the good feedback I love it came out better then I thought. I decided to try it out cuz on the second pic to the right you can see a little burn from a cig I guess it was their when i got the car so I wasnt to worried about messing it up. it was real easy too I should have taken progress pics but I didnt think it would turn out good so shame on me.

All I did was use the dock adapter that came with the ipod trimmed out the hole to fit the cable in and epoxied it so it would stay put and used the paint I had left over from the radio bezel. then used some masking tape and made a template of the hole for the top and put it on the trim pice and cut it out had to make it alittle bigger cuz I have a case on the ipod. cleaned it up with some sandpaper and epoxied the dock to the trim

sorry for the long post just got off work

I like the pop-out Idea too that would have been real clean and stealthy

I got another Idea for the trim right above the glove box but not letting that cat out the bag just yet

i really like it, i think it would've been even better if it was angled slightly back towards the ashtray. none-the-less it came out clean. i have mine inside the armrest

I wish it was angeled back alittle more myself when I test fitted it (held together
with my hands) it looked like it would but after it was all glued together thats how it came out but I can see it just fine so im ok with it

Here's my "prototype" for my '06 iPod dock. It doesn't charge the iPod; I have another lead for that. There is more room between the iPod when docked and the shifter in park than in the 1st Gens. I did have to do some surgery on the plastic cross-member below the ashtray assembly. Ignore the crappy trim panel. This is, after all, a prototype.

ah well it makes more sense now, ignore my comment in the picture thread. Its a good idea, I just wouldn't like it that low it may be hard to see or use with out taking your eyes off the road.

is that just paint or a whole new piece?

It's an old piece I had. It was scratched up pretty badly and I was experimenting trying to get a good paint match. Apparently the allotted drying time on the can was a little off..... I have one I'm working on now and a new one on the way.

It really isn't that hard to see. Besides, at what would you be looking?

at the Ipod, but then again I don't have a double din or a radio that will play through the ipod, such as skip songs and such. Mine just has an 8mm jack. I have a phone holder up by the center vent I use for my Iphone so I can see it easily and so on.

You have he same set-up?

no... but my fold out's 3.5 jack plugs to my phone that rest in the same spot. with being a single din fold out display, I have the cubby for my wires a I pod jack (+ my gain control)
