351C in my LS

I have owned my 2000 Lincoln LS 5 years now, and I do love it. like a Mustang, only better! i have a 351 cleveland stroked to 408 that I am contemplating installing in my LS. The Lincoln has 180,000 miles on it now, and eeverything still works very good. Has anyone done this(or any Ford V8)?
I would probably use an AOD from a Mustang, and rebuild it witha shift kit. Thanks for any help.
 
If you're serious about this and understand the amount of work that this swap is going to take I'd shoot dwiggy a PM and consult with him. He seems to be in the finishing stages of his 302 swap.

Wait... an ACTUAL 351 Cleveland? Or a Clevor motor?
 
Just to let you guys know I will be doing my swap soon. Due to its legendary reliability and the unfortunate accident/frame damage on my neighbors riding lawn mower I am the proud new owner of an 11.5 HP Briggs and Straton air cooled engine. When I swap this into the LS I will try to use the 6 spd from the mower. Should I try to find an OEM shift lever from a GEN I v6 with the 5 spd? Do you think that a Mustang shifter would work?

Guys, I just bought this car and I love it and everything but I keep getting what feels like a miss. It just starts to run really bad and kinda shakes, but it only happens sometimes.

Any help would be aweseom!!!!
 
I want to see someone swap a 4 cyl into the LS. LOL.

I want to help you out, but like all seasoned LS owners know there is no cure for this miss. No cheap cure at least. The entire flux capacitor must be replaced. Actually you should always replace them in pairs, so plan on doing both if you are going to keep the car.
 
A misfire is simply one of the eight midgets under the hood getting out of line. replace said midget with another.

Wait, you're not swapping the hydrostatic transmission in with it? The last time I checked it's a direct swap and who wouldn't want to do this with their LS?

I'd try mating it to another engine maybe instead of a transmission and then just run the cam shaft straight to the axle. That way you have 2x the horsepower and 1 speed: FAST!
 
Not upset, just remembered, that's all.
So are they getting you a new "other ride"?
 
When I do my swap it will be a Cummins 4 cylinder turbo diesel with a 6 inch exhaust tip pouring out black smoke for miles.
