The DA at Infineon is usually 1000+ DA and because of it's location there is a head wind 9 times out of 10. It's a good track but definitely not considered to be a fast track like Atco or some of the other east coast tracks.

Thanks DLF!

My DA was 1145 feet when I ran a 13.59 NA. So in the same conditions, you're telling me that a Vortech with 6 psi and probably 100+ more rwhp is only a few tenths faster? I DISAGREE ;) He should be able to run 12s, even at my track.

Sounds like you should have gone last Friday. :D

It sucks. The only time we have super low DA is early spring and late fall at my track due to the elevation.

You mean to say he was only a few tenths quicker (ET), he was almost 6 mph faster which suggests he has 60 more rear wheel horsepower assuming same DA and race weight. His car definitely has more in it. Every 1000 ft in DA is worth 1mph or about 10 horsepower.

Now that sounds a bit less negative! :p

how many mph did you pick up with a gear? Im gonna go to TnT on friday night and find out how many mine will help. i was trapping @ 93 before

I never ran my car at the track when it was stock, but if it trapped similar to your car when stock, that would be about 8 mph so far with the 4.30s. I still need to pick up a few mph to accomplish my lofty goal.

ahhh gotcha. id be ecstatic if i got 4-5 mph. but i doubt that will happen

The very first time I ever ran mine at the track, I ran 14.425 @ 94.65, with the stock intake, headers, exhaust, TC, and gears. I was very disappointed.

Since then, I've swapped in the Cobra Intake, Accufab throttle body, UD pulleys, along with a Canton oil pan and windage tray. And I did J-Mod the transmission, finally.

So I've picked up over 1.1 seconds and more than 9 MPH from an already modified car.

The bulk of the improvement has come from my ability to tune it. That's the real secret. ;)

And, I'm not done tuning it yet.

I agree. Your tuning is superior. The ability to data log your car is even a step above the dyno in my opinion. Once you leave the dyno, it is what it is once you hit the track.

so what your really sayin is i need to dump the stock intake and grab a tuner

I'm absolutely certain that I could tune a Gen 2 with the stock intake, headers, dual exhaust, TC, and gears into the 13's, but just not very far.

If you really want to play, you have to swap the intake.

And, of course, find someone that can tune it properly.

Savage, sorry we took over your thread.

My deepest apologies.

I would disagree with you, it all depends on the track conditions. I can guarantee you that a Vortech Mark VIII with 6 psi would run no better than low 13's at my track (Infineon Raceway).

I'm pretty sure Savagecat like myself put on the next smaller pulley so I believe he also is now at 8psi. My first run in the 11's was with a DA of 1,200

When and if I make a run into the 13s it will have to be with the stock manifolds. I simply can't afford kooks headers

No it's alright this is making want to put my cobra intake on I'm just not sure whether I should keep the the imrcs has anyone mounted their batter in the trunk cause I was thinking of doing that to have my inane on the drivers side my battery mount is broken anyway I was wondering how much of a pain it would be
