i was just going through the chemical book here at work to see what fluid i needed for our diffs, and i was shocked to see that the 2000+ tbirds use the 8.8" case instead of the 8" case we do. they are both irs. wondering if someone has attempted to install that case into the ls, as more gear ratios would then be available, including 3.73's and 4.10's. i already got a 8" unit, and it should be rebuilt this week with the 3.58's, so i'm out, but maybe someone else would be willing to accept the challenge.

Thats not the case, T-birds have the 8 inch rear end 2002+ I have a T-bird 3.58 in my old LS. Thats a misprint.
