I saw a video of an LS with nitrous, do they make a kit? Does anyone on here run nitrous?

make a kit? ummmm yes and no. I'm running a universal efi wet kit. When you break down a nitrous kit there isnt anything to customize except the jets. solenoids are going to be about the same (some are better than others) and braided line is pretty standard.

what specifically are you looking to know?

well i have an 01 LS V6, not exactly a powerhouse but a fun car for sure...just didnt how expensive and how hard it really is on the engine, obviously its added...stress, i guess youd call it...on the engine just didnt know how realistic it is for a car you want to last a while

I'm not sure what the V6 can take, but my 01 V8 has over 100k and I have no problems. Nitrous isnt something you run all the time either so I guess it depends on how much you juice it and how often

I know a bunch of us have run or are running nitrous in the V8's but I dont know if anyone is bottle feeding their V6

yea...like i said mines an 01 i only have a little over 72000, what does it cost to do around 600?

around 600?

over all price? You can get a kit for about 400, add in a tuner so you can pull timing and your looking at 800 and then you want a controlling device so figure about 100-200 for that. All and all you are looking at 1000 to safely run nitrous on these cars

haha good bye budget, cant do anything to these cars unless its custom and exhaust, for 800, doesnt seem worth it for the v6, v8's for sure

well.... your talking about 100 horse. and the 400 for a tuner gets you a tune too so add in more power on top of that

I wouldn't even run 100 on the 6 cylinder. Get a universal 100 shot wet kit but use the 90 horsepower jets at the max- 75 would be much safer. And don't skip getting the controler.
Check to make sure the V6 has the same fuel pump as the V8 and you should be fine.
The tuner is there more to adjust timing as you'll need to pull some when running the nitrous. When not, its a nice easy way to bump timing back up.

damn up to 100+ HP......I'm tempted to use that at the car shows/ 1/4mile races :-D

i only made one stock pass run ever- a 15.3 which I'm sure I could have improved on with practice. My timing was also pulled so I lost some HP there. I made multiple passes on nitrous but made my fastest run on low bottle pressure (I'm guessing it dropped the shot from 100 to about 80-90) and ran a 13.7. There's plenty of improvement to be had on that time as I'm still tweaking the controller.

So with that said, you should be able to knock off about 1.5 seconds off the 1/4 mile. The car does not have enough traction to support that power- if it did, you knock another 1/10 or two off without changing anything else.

can't wait to get out this summer and beat my old time. hoping to break into 12's with a 125 shot.

the best first gen NA so far I know of is 14.3 the best nitrous is a 13.1 and thats with a 100 shot. Im pretty sure with a few people running bigger shots, there should be a 12 second nitrous pass this year.

dave I ran a 15.1 at 103 mph up here HOLY TRACTION ISSUES!!!!!!!!!! And I have a locked rear end.

12 sec LS is very impressive especially without tearing the motor apart and dropping some serious money

I am very confident that with propper traction I can make a solid 12 sec pass. That 103 was pedaling the whole time to not completely lose it... OH and I was only running the 100 shot. Once I change out the jets and put the 125 in there she'll have more traction issues, but more power too!

There is one guys that has ran nitrous for a long time on his V6 LS. His name is Tom and he goes by the name xxxbmxlsxxx or something like that. Search for him on here and shoot him a PM if you want to ask a fella who has sprayed his V6 any questions. Honestly from our conversations I would be willing to bet that Tom is probably at LEAST in the top two people who have put the most spray through their LS period, V6 or V8....

even more than cammerFE and his 200 shot?

3 letters for your traction issue... LSD :D

YEP!, thats the next mod- hopefully this summer.

i basically did 2 burnouts, 1 with the wheel cut to the left to heat up the drivers side and then a little to the right to heat up the passenger side. just enough to clean the tires off, not really roast em. after that, it does "okay" as long as you keep it straight. can't wait for the limited slip though. trying to decide whether to gear while I'm at it.
