11pm Friday evening, August 19, I head out of our neighborhood heading to pick up my son after the high school dance and a guy backs his Bronco out of a drive way right into my right bumper and fender. Not only does he destroy my LSE bumper and fender, the impact breaks the tie rod off of the right steering knuckle. The car just got picked up by the insurance company for assessment. Based on the age and mileage (270,016 miles) of my 2004 LS V8, I am fully expecting that they will total the car. But who knows...

Of course I am going to fix it!!! I already have a line on a replacement LSE/06 bumper! For confirmation, the fenders on all LS's are the same, right? IOWs, a 2002 right fender will fit on an 2004.

Ouch!!! Make sure you have a mechanic take a good look at everything around and under the right front corner.

You could have other damaged suspension parts under there... including the steering knuckle and control arm (and where the control arm bolts to the subframe. Might have a "tweaked" steering knuckle too.

Nevermind. I take it the broken piece on the tie rod... is part of the knuckle. Steering rack may be fubar now.
Right, I was thinking the same thing...

Need replacement knuckle
Possibly steering rack
Fender - replace and paint
bumper - replace and paint
and whatever else...
