I have an 01 Continental, does anyone know if it would be possible to replace the black shift knob on the floor shift selector in my Continental with the real wood shift knob from a 1997-98 Mark VIII? The two shift knobs look very much the same but the Continental shift knob does not have an overdrive button. They both have the same type of chrome button on the shifter. I don't know if the shift knob screws or otherwise connects to the shift lever the same way in both the Continental & Mark VIII or if the shift knob from each car connects to the lever in a different way. If anyone has a diagram showing how the floor shifter knob and other components connect to each other in either car I would really like to see that.
