Blinking or Flashing CEL?

I have a CEL for coil misfires, recently the CEL has started to blink periodically. I cannot find any info on why this would happen...any ideas?

The flashing CEL means the engine has a misfire that is happening right now, and it's severe enough to possibly damage your cats (because of all the unburned fuel that's being dumped into them). Sounds like you're definitely due for a coil replacement.

Thanks alot, I am glad to know the two are related and I don't have another problem....I have the coils, I am just waiting for 60 degree weather on Thursday......
