I have heard from a mechanic friend of mine that installing hyper white or blue tinted bulbs will melt the connection wires in your headlights. He says that the amperage of the aftermarket bulbs runs higher than the stock bulbs and will eventually cause wires to melt. Has anyone heard of this or experienced this? I have Nokya blue lowbeams, and I do NOT want to have to put the stock bulbs back in if I don't have to.

If the bulb is rated 80w yea it is possible that the wiring will burn. Seen it alot. If you get bulbs rated at 55w like Silverstars are, you shouldn't have a problem. Check the rating of the bulb before you buy. Or you could buy an upgraded wiring harness to use the higher wattage bulbs.

How do you like those??? Which ones are you using for the high beams??

We've put them in several vechiles now. fast shipping.

they come numbered like the factory 9005, 9006 - I also used a set of 9005 in the foglamps (which take a 9145).

So you're using 9005's for the foglights and headlamps and 9006 for the high beams??

According to the Silverstar chart I was looking at recently, the 9007's are for the headlamps and the 9005's are for the high beams.

Not second guessing, just trying to get some clarification because I'm needing to put new lamps in the old LS.

9006 is for the lows
9005 is for the HIs and can be used for the fogs.

9007 is used for a signle headlamp that is LOW and HI say like in a truck or SUV.

i

I don't know what Silverstar is talking about. I'm running the same set-up as Quik. 9006 in the low's and 9005 in the highs. Planning to put some 9005 in the fogs this weekend when I get home. ( DONE WITH SCHOOL) :) It's going to be the first full summer with the LS and I'm planning a lot of stuff for it.

Doh!!!! I screwed that up. It is the 9006's for the lows. My bad guys.....

The 9005's......those just plug in to to fog lamps?? No mods necessary??

Shoot! I just realized that the listed auction was for a high and low beam set!!! That's a pretty good deal considering the silverstar 9005's are like $40 for a pair at any local auto store here. How do these compare to the silverstar??

Also, I's guessing that someone from here has ordered from the listed ebay vendor?? I presume that the auction comes with a 9006 and 9005 pair?? Thanks guys!

correct.

Yes - I have used him several times, and have turned several friends onto them as well.

He is fast shipping, and has handled a few returns wiuthout question.

I use them . 9005 in the fogs and highs. 9006 in the lows. Looks great. I had 1 bulb that went bad after a few days and i sent them an email and they told me to ship back the bad bulb and they replaced the bulb with two brand new ones with no questions asked.

Awesome guys!! Think I know where I'm getting new bulbs for the LS now. That's a heck of a deal.

Just from your experiences, these vs. a stock setup (which mine is) how big of an improvement is there??

well I was driving with one stock and one of the HILITE bulbs in the lows and I can say it's proabably about a 20% improvenment. besides the fact that yellow sux / it's def worth the purchase for the money.

I just ordered a pair of these from the site Quik LS provided.

Thanks for the help and insight. :gr_hail:

H2OSHO

Day 3 of my LS ownership.

The Ebay listed earlier is out of date. Anyone know which seller this is referring to?

I hate to sound like an idiot, but what's the difference in Stage 1 and Stage 2? Is that Low and High beams?

Nokya Stage 1 bulbs operate around 60-70W. The Nokya Stage 2 bulbs operate around 70-100W.
