Project: Hotrod Lincoln

Documented goals and processes for completing an engine swap into a 2002 Lincoln LS Sport

Start Date: July 17, 2012
End Date:___________

Project owner: Anton Wyler

Goal: Make a 523 Horsepower Lincoln LS

Project: Hotrod Lincoln
Year: 2002
Model: LS V8 Sport
Make: Lincoln

Modifications done so far:
- Full 2.25 custom exhaust
- Magnaflow high flow catalytic Converters
- FlowMaster supper 44 mufflers
- Guages
- Fuel ratio
- boost
- water temp
- volts
Oem Gauges
- tach, temp, speed, fuel level

Objective:

We are aiming for about 530 Horsepower at the crank by using a 2002-current Jaguar XKR engine with an Eaton M112 supercharger. One internal goal will to also be able to modify the pully with ease to adjust boost pressure. Right now an immediate issue is that there is little to no pulley aftermarket and the snout on the S/C will need extensive modification. Part of this Horsepower goal will require me to modify the differential and drive shaft for safety measures. Also I will be flaring the fenders to allow for a wider tire for better traction and to assist the launch.

Okay so this is going to be my project thread, this is where I will post all information I can, as well please keep the junk out, if you have questions please refer to the other thread as this will be the build thread. Do not expect to see this updated everyday, but more as place for me to store information at this time.

My general XKR motor thread can be found here

I'll be following buddy, good luck. Let me know if i can help in any way

going with an 8.8 from a cobra/mark viii? seems like a common swap.

however, 4.10s will be a lot of gear with 530 hp. many boosted mark viii's and cobras at that power level go with 3.55s.
the higher gear helps build boost a little better and doesn't destroy the tires every time you come near the throttle.

Yeah, after looking more into this I may go with 3.73 gears or close to

So I am checking over with the Jag Guys, (JG from now on) about what gears they are using with this motor as well if the Jag is using a one or two piece drive shaft. Just need to know what I need before I need it.

I wish you well on your journey. This could get scary interesting! Just reading it gives me goose bumps. Good luck!

Yeah, I can't wait to get started... This has m more excited than any other project.

Good luck.

Would love to see a 5.0 swap into one.

are you referring to the coyote motor? Dwiggy did an old pushrod 5.0, I think he said the coyote motor is two wide for the engine bay

No, The 5.0 AJV8:

Its supposed to have similar dimensions and weight to the 4.2 but with much more power and torque. Its only been out for two years now so it would be very expensive if you could find one.

The XF used the 4.2 for 2009 and then it switched to the 5.0 and the dimensions of the XF are almost the same as the LS, i parked next to one and they were very close. The engine should fit. Would make one hell of a power plant even the N/A version.

oooh okay yeah, I think that may be a little out of the budge. It would make for a badass car though

Yea i was going to say which motor you using since the early 2000 XKRs had 4.2 liter supercharged engine and the current one has 5 liter supercharged engine. Two different motors.

FYI, the current 5 liter is a Jaguar design, but built by Ford in Wales.

it will be the 4.2 found in the the 2000-2006 XKR, I believe that the 4.0 was in the xk8 but I am not 100% yet, but that's why I joined the jag forum.

By the way, you should check out jaguarforums.com with the new ride. seems to be a good place

Gotcha.

I have been a member on there for a while.....maybe about 6 months. Thanks though.

Budget??? You have gone from just heads to a full swap. The B word is completely shot full of holes at this point my friend. :)

I had my engine bulit last year with the intent of going with a turbo or a supercharger but once Cammerfe offered me a great price on his Nitrous kit, it was too good of a HP per dollar solution to pass upon.

well the project budget is about 5k for the stuff I want to do it should be feasible. I have to have a budget or I will go wild and get off track.

Two months and no update? Another dead engine swap thread?

cam, not 100% sure yet, I need to get with, or find so to speak a local jag guy to discuss. And LS4me, if you read the op, I am not just rushing into this, tons of prep research still to do. It will happen don't worry. But I am not going to rush into and screw it up. It needs to run and work as if it was oem or there is no point.
